National Hot Breakfast Month

Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day. Many of us don’t have time to cook a quick meal ourselves, and instead resort to cold cereal or donuts that are readily available in local coffee shops. So this month, we should try to encourage and celebrate the joys that are part of hot breakfasts!
If you haven’t perused our recipes, then you may not have noticed that we have several breakfast recipes that you could try using our Old Neighborhood products. We still have roughly half of the month left to go, so feel free to cook these when you’d like.
One recipe, Corned Beef Breakfast Scramble, was actually created by Chef Rick, using Old Neighborhood Corned Beef Brisket. Simply mix it with leek, potatoes, bacon, and green peppers, and serve it with scrambled eggs. The eggs can be cooked separately from the rest or just mixed in altogether!
You can also try our regular Breakfast Scramble, which uses Old Neighborhood Linguica, mixed with eggs and cheese. Linguica is our Portuguese sausage, and it’s fully cooked, meaning that making a meal of it takes only a short time!
Not a fan of corned beef or sausage? Then you can use Old Neighborhood Shaved Steak! Our shaved steak is so versatile that it’s perfect for breakfast. Sliced thin for your convenience, you can make quick tasty meals, such as our Cheesesteak Omelet with Mushroom, Pepper, Onion or our Cheesesteak Omelet with Broccoli Rabe and Aged Provolone. Both of these take the popular cheese steak and incorporate it into an omelet suitable for breakfast!


Lastly, if you’re not a fan of eggs, you can always cook our Sausage Grilled Cheese. This recipe takes an all-time favorite and adds in tasty meat, specifically our sausages. Choose from Old Neighborhood Hot Italian, Chorizo, or Linguica sausages.
